If your truck weighs 14,000 lbs or more, California law (Senate Bill 210) requires it to meet specific Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program standards. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) manages this program to ensure heavy-duty diesel vehicles operate cleanly and efficiently. Vehicles that pass all requirements are considered
CARB Compliant.
At
Long Road Repair, we’re here to help you stay compliant and avoid costly fines by walking you through every step of the process.
CARB Compliance Requirements:
- Register Your Vehicle: All qualifying trucks must be registered in CARB’s Clean Truck Check Program. You can complete your registration online at: CleanTruckCheck.ARB.CA.GOV
- Pay the Annual Compliance Fee: Once registered, you’ll need to pay a $30 annual compliance fee per vehicle to maintain your registration and active status with CARB.
- Perform Required Emission Testing: Beginning in 2025, all heavy-duty diesel vehicles must pass the Clean Truck Check Test—a process similar to a smog check but designed specifically for diesel engines.
- Frequency: Most vehicles must be tested twice per year (semi-annually).
- Exceptions: Recreational vehicles (RVs) and agricultural trucks are only required to test once per year.
Our certified technicians can perform these tests and ensure your vehicle meets all current CARB standards, keeping your fleet fully compliant and road-ready.
