Pacific and Algona sit at the south end of the valley warehouse belt, where the rail line, the river and the county boundary all cross within a mile of each other.
Warehouses, rail and a very small road network
Stewart Road, West Valley Highway and Ellingson Road carry the traffic for a district that is largely distribution buildings and rail-served industry. The road grid is thin, the crossings are level, and a stopped truck or a long train can shut a route down completely.
The practical lesson is the same one as everywhere on the valley floor: when a truck goes down near a dock or a crossing here, clearing it matters as much as fixing it, and we plan the call in that order.
Equipment that sits, and equipment that shuttles
Two populations. Drop trailers and chassis that sit in yards for weeks, which give us dead lighting, seized brakes, flat spots and leaked-down airbags. And shuttle tractors running short loops between buildings and the rail, which give us the coupling-related wear — trailer plugs, gladhand seals, fifth wheel and kingpin wear, and air leaks that appear only under load.
Both are fixable in place and neither should ever become a tow.
The county line is not a wall
Pacific straddles the Pierce–King boundary, and Algona is right beside it. We work both sides; it makes no difference to us which jurisdiction the truck happens to be parked in. What does matter is which building you are at, because access rules vary and we would rather know before we arrive.
Getting to you from Tacoma
About 24 miles — up I-5 to SR-18 and across, or up the valley on West Valley Highway. At peak the valley route can be slower despite being shorter, so tell us where you are and we will pick the road.
Do you do yard sweeps on a drop trailer pool?
Yes, and at this distance it is the efficient way to work. One visit, every trailer walked, everything wrong fixed or listed. It costs far less than five separate emergency calls and it stops trailers failing at a gate.
Are you able to work at a rail-served facility?
Where we are permitted on the property, yes. Rail property itself needs their clearance, which has to come from you — bring the unit to a street or a lot if that is simpler.
Services we run in Pacific
Everything below is available on the road where it can be, and in the Tacoma bay where it needs a lift. Same techs either way.
