Silverdale is about forty road miles from our shop — over the Narrows, through Gorst and up SR-3. It is the far edge of what we cover, and the distance deserves to be said out loud.
Forty miles with two chokepoints
The route is SR-16 over the Narrows Bridge, north through Gorst, then SR-3. Both the bridge and Gorst back up routinely and there is no alternative worth taking. That combination is why Silverdale sits at the outer limit of our service area rather than comfortably inside it.
We are not going to pretend this is a fast emergency response area. It is not. What it is good for is planned work.
What we do out here, and what we do not
Good use of us: scheduled fleet servicing with several units in one visit, annual DOT inspections arranged as a block at the Tacoma shop, planned repairs, and diagnostic work where the truck is not stranded.
Poor use of us: a single truck down on SR-3 at 4pm needing someone in thirty minutes. For that, a closer provider will serve you better and we will say so on the phone rather than take the call and arrive late.
Kitsap equipment and corrosion
Construction and site fleets, delivery, waste and utility, marine-adjacent transport and contractor trucks. All of it lives in salt air, and all of it loses electrical connectors, grounds, trailer plugs, lighting, air fittings and brake hardware faster than inland equipment does. That is the single most useful thing to inspect for on a Kitsap fleet.
The arrangement that works
Bring several units to 1616 E 26th St in one trip, or book us for a yard day where we work through your fleet in one visit. Either way the travel is paid once instead of every time, and that is the only way this distance makes financial sense for you.
Do you actually serve Silverdale?
For planned work, yes. For urgent roadside response, honestly, usually not well — and we would rather tell you that than sell you a window we cannot meet.
What is the cheapest way to use you from here?
One visit, many trucks. Inspections, preventive work and known repairs batched together. That turns a forty-mile trip into something that actually pays for itself.
