Annual inspections and staying legal

Vocational trucks fail inspections for unglamorous reasons — lighting, mud flaps, cracked frames from loading, brake stroke, and tires that are fine everywhere except one cut sidewall. We run annual DOT inspections at the Tacoma shop and we would rather find those on a lift than have a trooper find them on the 410.

Do you work on dump trailers and lowboys?

Yes. Air, brakes, suspension, lighting, hydraulics and structural welding are all normal work for us — welding and fabrication included, which vocational equipment needs far more often than over-the-road trailers do.

Can you come to a job site?

If the service truck can get to the unit safely, yes. Gravel and dirt are fine; soft ground, a steep pit floor or an active loading face are not, and we would rather move the truck fifty yards than work somewhere neither of us should be standing.
